“It is literally a theft from the American people. It's the legacy of mavericks like Leopold and Roosevelt, and the efforts underway in the Senate right now would rip that all away from us.

I’m an ecologist and a land manager living out in California, but I interact with a fair amount of lands in the general western United States. I'm an outdoorsman. I'm a bird hunter and a falconer. But all my best memories have been on public lands. I feed myself off public lands. My life literally wouldn't be worth living without them. My entire career is tied to them, and they just enrich my life in every way possible. It's the best idea our country has ever had. I'm there with you, an absolute public lands warrior, and we’ve still got a fight to fight. So I’ll be calling my senators tomorrow.”
